What is the Fire Service Enhancement Committee ?
         Over the past several years, the Fire Chiefs Association has recognized the increasing challenges that affect the delivery of our service to our community in Fire/ Rescue and EMS.
 
         As a result of multiple discussions and meetings of the Town of Hamburg Fire Chief’s Association, Training and Recruitment Committees, the president of the Hamburg Fire Chief’s Association has formed this committee to focus on the challenges we are confronted with.
 
What are our goals ?
       To assure ourselves, the municipal boards that contract for our service, and most importantly, our taxpayers and customers, that we are continuing to provide the very best level of service of Fire/ Rescue and EMS that they expect.
 
       To enhance the quality and efficiency of services we provide our communities.
 
       A continuing process to monitor and assess the performance levels of the fire/rescue and EMS service.
 
What is our Mission ?
       To identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current Fire/ Rescue and EMS provided by the membership companies of the Town of Hamburg Fire Chief’s Association.
 
       Once identified, to develop a plan which would enhance the quality of services we provide.
 
Members of the Committee:
       Paul Wilson- 18 years in the fire service. Chairman of the Fire Service Enhancement Committee and Past Chief of the Lake Shore Fire Company.
 
       Mike Guadagno.- 25 years in the fire service, Chief Scranton Fire Company. Co-chairman of the Fire Service Enhancement Committee.
 
       George Utz- 25 years in the fire service, Past Chief Hamburg Fire Department, President Hamburg Fire Chief’s Assn, President Hamburg Fire Dept.
 
       John Carlin- 30 years in the fire service ,Past Chief ,D-2, Hamburg Emergency Management Team member.
 
       Brian Horwood - 32 years in the fire service ,Past Chief Hamburg Fire Company, D2-1, Hamburg Emergency Management Team member.
 
       Dave Cole-  38 years in the fire service , Past Chief Eden Fire Department
 
       Keith Hauser - 28 years in the fire service, Past Chief Lake View Fire District.
 
       Dave Jensen- 20 years in the fire service, Chief Newton Abbott Fire Company.
 
       Ron Klimowicz- 20 years in the fire service, Past Chief Big Tree Fire Company, Chief Hamburg Water Rescue Unit, ALERT Region 1 Coordinator
 
       Steve Ruesch- 32 years in the fire service, Past Chief Armor Fire Company, Past D2-1, Hamburg Emergency Management Team member.
 
       Thomas Taylor- 37 years in the fire service, Senior Dispatcher, Past Chief Newton Abbott Fire Company, Hamburg Emergency Management Team member.
 
       Gene Wieckowski- 21 years in the fire service, Assistant Chief North Boston Fire Company.
 
       Glenn Zawierucha- 20 years in the fire service, Hamburg Emergency Management Team member, Past Chief Scranton Fire Company.
 
       Paul Zemla - 30 years in the fire service, Past Chief Armor Volunteer Fire Company.
 
 
Our committee will be identifying our Strengths-Weaknesses- Opportunities
and Threats (SWOT analysis)
       To identify “attributes/conditions” of the current Fire/Rescue and EMS that are helpful in achieving our objective.
 
        To identify “attributes/conditions” that are harmful to achieving the goals and objectives of the Fire/Rescue and EMS.
 
       To identify “external factors/conditions” that are helpful in achieving the objectives of the Fire/Rescue and EMS.
 
       To identify “external conditions” which could do damage to the objective of the Fire/Rescue and EMS.
 
Knowing that CHANGE is inevitable:
we want to be proactive and lead the way that we believe is best for our communities.
This ongoing effort will be daunting at times but will be worth every minute spent if you provide your honest input
